It’s hard to find a good toothpaste – let alone find a fluoride free toothpaste, good or bad. So imagine my surprise when I found Hello Anti-plaque and Whitening Fluoride Free Toothpaste. Not only is it fluoride free, but it is also vegan. This cruelty-free product is made in a few different types, including charcoal toothpaste, and a couple of kids flavors.
I had first come across the brand when I bought one of their lip balms. I was over the moon with that, so I did not hesitate to try their toothpaste. The paste I bought was their natural peppermint with tea tree oil and coconut oil. The packaging states that the product addresses plaque and whitens teeth. It also states that the tube itself is BPA-free and the box is 100% recyclable and printed with soy ink.
The container holds 4.7 ounces of paste. The texture is smooth, the consistency like pastry glaze, and the taste has a fresh bite to it.
I liked the way it felt. It wasn’t gritty, or sticky, or just plain trying too hard. Most of the toothpastes I’ve used over my lifetime were just a thick glob that was usually “over-minty”. What comes out of this product’s tube is a little thinner, but just as effective, if not more so.
While one doesn’t swallow toothpaste, it is still going into your mouth, so I did like the other things they had to say about their product that gave me some peace of mind. Unlike many other brands, this particular toothpaste is not only fluoride-free, it also has no dyes, no artificial flavors or sweeteners, no SLS/sulfates, no triclosan, and no parabens.
Would this be a brand that I would use again? The answer is definitely yes. This is not only the second product of theirs I’ve tried with positive results, it is the second type of product I’ve tried. That let’s me know that they know how to get more than one thing right. That being the case, I look forward to trying anything else put out by Hello.
