If you’re a vegan, you are already contributing a great deal to help combat climate change. However, if you want to take as many extra steps as you can, here are a few suggestions:
Metal Straws
Many places around the globe are beginning to outlaw plastic straws as another way to help the environment. Metal or stainless steel straws for those who still prefer to or must use straws, is a great alternative.
Stainless Steel Water Bottles
While many have purchased reusable plastic bottles for water instead of making constant purchases of disposables, perhaps a better idea might be a stainless steel bottle. Sooner of later, that plastic bottle will most likely get thrown away like the disposables it was replacing – and remain in a landfill for hundreds of years as well.
Solar Panels
Installing solar panels in your home is a great way to conserve energy. A single-family home might save hundreds a year by making the switch.
Xeriscaping
Planting succulents and other drought-resistant plants in your yard is another way of cutting down on water usage.
Bring Your Own Utensils
If you bring your lunch to work, pack your own utensils from home instead of grabbing a plastic utensil in the breakroom at work, or buying plastic forks and spoons to bring.
